I have an HP9025e printer. I was subscribed to Instant Ink. In December we purchased a new router and then found out that our printer was not compatible to it so our printer cannot hook to the internet anymore. I cancelled our Instant Ink so we have no active subscriptions. I want to use my printer with a USB cable only but it is locked up and I get the message that it cannot print until it is hooked to the internet. I've  tried a hard reset and it didn't work. What can I do to get my printer working. It has all new purchased ink cartridges.

Aside from instant ink, did you enable HP+ on this printer? If yes, you will require a internet connection to enable HP to monitor that you are using OEM cartridges, part of what is agreed to when you enable HP+.

Yes, HP+ is enabled...it would not complete set up without it. So essentially I have to throw away a perfectly good printer because that model can't hook up to a 5gHz router? It's hardly my fault that the printer has to have a 4 g router which our internet provider no longer even supports. WOW!! Hp certainly likes to drive away customers...guess it's time to try out a different brand that doesn't hold us hostage. Yes, I'd prefer to have it using WiFi but the printer won't work with our WiFi so the next best option is to use a USB port...and now that wont' even work...what a ripoff!
