6 days after the warranty expired, the Printheads failed today. Only place I can find replacement Printheads are the no-name items listed on Amazon that may or may not be compatible.

for the money spent on this printer, I would expect it to last more than 1 year and 6 days!

If a printer won’t last more than one year, I will go to a different brand.[edited]IMG_0030.png

Hi @MJensen92,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I can see from your screenshot that your HP Smart Tank 7300 series is showing a Printhead Failure alert in the HP Smart app. I completely understand how disappointing this feels, especially when it happens just days after the warranty expired. You invested in a printer expecting reliability, and this situation feels like a letdown.

Recommended Guidance

  1. Confirm the Error
    • On the printer display or HP Smart app, check if the error persists after restarting the printer.

  2. Try Basic Reset
    • Power off the printer.
    • Unplug for 60 seconds.
    • Plug back in and restart.
    • If the error remains, the printhead needs replacement.

  3. Replacement Options
  • HP recommends using genuine HP printheads for your Smart Tank 7300 series.
  • You can find them on the HP Parts Store or through HP Support.
  • Avoid third-party or “no-name” replacements they often cause compatibility issues or poor print quality.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
