Printheads

HP Recommended
HP Officejet 6700
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I am getting this error message:  The printhead appears to be missing, not detected, or incorrectly installed. I have replaced all ink cartridges with new HP ink cartridges. I have unplug the printer while still on and waiting 60 seconds before turning back on. I have turned it off and on numerous times.

I have had my printer for years.  Is there a a quick fix? Or do I need a new printer?

@Danes1 Here're a few steps to help identify and/or resolve the issue:

Step 1: Reset the printer

Reset the printer to try and recover from printer failures.

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer.

  2. Unplug the power cord from the power source.

  3. Wait 60 seconds.

  4. Reconnect the power cord to a wall outlet and to the printer.

    NOTE:

HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.
