Hi @Rita851,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

If the scan buttons on your HP ENVY 6055 All-In-One Printer are lit up and you're unable to print, it may indicate that the printer is stuck in a scan mode or there's a pending scan job. Here’s how you can troubleshoot this issue:

1. Cancel Any Pending Jobs:

  • On the Printer:
    • Check if there are any pending scan jobs on the printer's display. If so, try canceling them.
  • On Your Computer:
    • Go to the Devices and Printers section in the Control Panel (Windows) or Printers & Scanners in System Preferences (macOS).
    • Right-click on your HP ENVY 6055 printer, select See what's printing, and cancel any jobs that are in the queue.

2. Restart the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for about 30 seconds.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
  • Check if the scan buttons are still lit and whether the printer can now print.

3. Reset the Printer:

  • Sometimes a reset can clear any issues with the printer’s modes.
  • Steps:
    1. With the printer turned on, unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
    2. Wait 60 seconds.
    3. Plug the power cord back into the printer and turn it on.
  • After the reset, try printing again.

4. Check Printer Status:

  • Ensure that the printer is set as the default printer on your computer.
  • Check if the printer is showing as "Online" in the printer settings on your computer.

5. Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers:

  • Outdated or corrupted drivers can cause issues with printer functionality.
  • Steps:
    1. Go to the HP Support website and download the latest drivers for your HP ENVY 6055 printer.
    2. Install the drivers, then restart your computer and printer.

Please find the remaining steps in the next post.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @Rita851,

Please find the next steps below.

6. Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Ensure that your printer firmware is up to date, as firmware updates can fix bugs or issues with the printer.
  • Steps:
    1. Open the HP Smart app or go to the HP website.
    2. Check for and install any available firmware updates for your printer.

7. Clear Any Scanning Issues:

  • If the printer is stuck in a scanning mode, try scanning a document to complete the job, and then try printing again.

8. Use the HP Print and Scan Doctor (Windows Only):

  • HP provides a diagnostic tool called the HP Print and Scan Doctor that can automatically find and fix issues.
  • Steps:
    1. Download the tool from the HP Support website.
    2. Run the tool and follow the on-screen instructions to troubleshoot the issue.

If after these steps you still can't print, there might be a more complex issue with the printer's hardware or software. In that case, contacting HP phone support would be advisable for further assistance.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
