HP OfficeJet Pro 6968

I’ve had this printer for about a year and 1/2. It first started not printing correctly when I’d send items to printer. It will only print parts of the image and in a weird light blue color. If Inselect “print in black” it prints a blank page. Now even if I’m copying something it doesn’t print. I spent over $50 worth of new ink and it’s still not working. Is this just to be expected with HP printers? They crap out after a year? I’ve done all  the updates. HELP! Any suggestions before I go Office Space on this thing?

@B4IhitITwithBAT, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

If the copies are blank, I'm afraid this could be a hardware issue. The printhead could have gone bad.

Clean the printhead

  1. From the printer control panel, open the Setup menu.

  2. Open the Printer Maintenance menu.

  3. If necessary, open the Tools menu, and then touch Clean Printhead.

  4. If the print quality is unacceptable, touch Clean Again to continue the next level of cleaning. If necessary, repeat these steps for the third cleaning cycle.
note: If the printhead is badly clogged, it might require another cleaning cycle. If so, wait 30 minutes before you perform all three levels of cleaning again.

Print a Print Quality Diagnostic Page, and then evaluate the results.

  1. Load plain white paper in the input tray.

  2. From the printer control panel, open the Setup menu.

  3. Open the Reports or Tools menu.

  4. Touch Print Quality Report. Check for any defects.

If the issue persists, perform step 9 from this document.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
