Printing and Copying in Black ink

HP Officejet Pro 6830 e-All-in-One Printer

Our "HP Officejet Pro 6830 e-All-in-One Printer" stopped printing and copying  in Black.  We followed directions from HP Virtual Agent to Clean Printhead, which did not work.  Although it did not say 'low on ink,' we installed new HP Black and Color ink cartridges and again Cleaned Printhead, multiple  times at all three "levels."  It still does not print or copy in Black.  (We rarely need to print or copy in Color, but that appears to be working....)  How can we get this printer to print and copy in Black?

@macman123, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

 

If you have tried the steps mentioned in this document - Black or Color Ink Not Printing, Other Print Quality Issues, and the issue persists, I'm afraid this is a hardware issue with the printhead as you have already used a new black ink cartridge.

 

Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer as the printhead has gone bad.

Hi again, Kumar.  I guess we just need to buy a new printer/copier/scanner.  Should we get another HP Officejet Pro 6830, or would you recommend another HP product?   We rarely ever print in color, so we probably don't require that function if that helps you make a recommendation.
