Deskjet 2734e

So I have a Deskjet 2734e and it randomly print out blank sheets when I am not around sometimes it's 1-2 sheets sometimes it's it's as much as 5 . It is going against my sheet and paper use on my instant ink plan. I haven't printing stuff since the begining of the month so it shouldn't be printing out anything.

I have tried the clearing the printer spool trick and it didn't work cause it has happened today again.

Anyone have any other suggestions ?

Hi @SusanPardy,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Printing blank "ghost sheets" can be frustrating, especially when it consumes your paper and ink allocation. Here are some additional troubleshooting steps you can try to address this issue with your Deskjet 2734e:

Check Print Queue:

  • Sometimes, print jobs get stuck in the print queue and may cause the printer to continue printing blank pages. Open the print queue on your computer and cancel any pending print jobs.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. Firmware updates can sometimes fix bugs and improve printer performance. Check the HP Support website for firmware updates for your Deskjet 2734e model.

Check Printer Settings:

  • Verify the printer settings on your computer and ensure that the correct paper size, type, and print quality settings are selected. Incorrect settings may cause the printer to produce blank pages.

Clean Print Heads:

  • Use the printer's built-in cleaning utility to clean the print heads. This can help remove any dried ink or debris that may be causing printing issues.

Replace Ink Cartridges:

  • If the ink cartridges are low or empty, replace them with new ones. Sometimes, low ink levels can cause printing problems, including printing blank pages.

Adjust Paper Tray Guides:

  • Make sure that the paper tray guides are properly adjusted to fit the size of the paper you're using. Loose or misaligned guides may cause paper feeding issues, resulting in blank pages.

Reset Printer:

  • Try performing a power reset on your printer. Turn off the printer, disconnect the power cord, and wait for about 60 seconds. Then, reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
