Microsoft Windows 11

My printer now prints a 'file details' page after printing a MS Word doc.  May have started after I updated to Windows 11.  How do I fix this issue?  Can't seem to find a support category to explain how to undo this.

@Michele511, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

The issue of your printer printing an additional 'file details' page after printing a Microsoft Word document may be related to a setting in Microsoft Word or your printer driver. Here are steps to resolve this issue:

Open Word and navigate to the Print settings:

  1. Open Microsoft Word.
  2. Click on File in the top-left corner.
  3. Click on Print from the dropdown menu.

Access Printer Properties:

  1. In the Print menu, select the Printer Properties link next to your printer name (HP OfficeJet 3830).
  2. In the Printer Properties window, check if there is a setting related to printing document properties or file details.

Disable Document Properties Reporting:

  1. If you find an option to print document properties or file details, make sure it is unchecked or turned off.

Check Printer Driver Settings

Update your Printer Driver:

  1. Ensure you have the latest driver for your HP OfficeJet 3830 after updating to Windows 11.
  2. You can download the latest drivers from the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page.

Change Printer Preferences:

  1. Open Windows Settings by pressing Windows + I.
  2. Go to Devices > Printers & scanners.
  3. Select your HP OfficeJet 3830 and click on Manage.
  4. Click on Printer properties.
  5. Go to the Advanced tab in the Printer Properties window.
  6. Look for any setting related to printing additional pages and ensure it is disabled.

After adjusting the settings, try printing a Microsoft Word document again to ensure the 'file details' page is no longer printed.
