  1. How can I print in all black ink if a COLOR cartridge is depleted.  I should not have to buy new color cartridges to print in black ink. 
  2. Additionally, my printer does not take remanufactured ink cartridges.  How can I correct this issue?  HP can not limit my ability to by replacement parts or create a situation via an HP update that would limit my ability to use these other replacement parts.  

Any assistance on how to correct these issues would be appreciated.

@deidre_br, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

 

1. This printer uses 4 ink cartridges. If any one ink cartridge is empty, you will not be able to print in black or color. Kindly replace the empty ink cartridge to resume printing.

 

2. This is a Dynamic security enabled printer. The Firmware Update may prevent supplies with non-HP chips or circuitry from working. 

Note: For printers manufactured prior to December 1, 2016 dynamic security will not be enabled by the firmware. Please note that HP cannot guarantee the quality or reliability of non-HP cartridges.
