Printing is blocked by HP

I used to be in the monthly ink payment plan, which I have now cancelled but  HP have blocked my printer which now doesn't work.

I have paid for the ink so why can't I use it?!

I was told I could stop the contract at any time, I am fully paid up, the ink and the printer are owned by me.

 Why have HP blocked it!!

I am sorry you are upset.

The Instant Ink cartridges never belonged to you - Instant Ink cartridges remain the property of HP.

Ink is supplied by HP during the time the subscription is active.

After the account / subscription is terminated / cancelled, the Instant Ink cartridges will lock and must be removed from the printer.

Remove the Instant Ink cartridges from the printer.

Purchase a set of HP cartridges and install the new cartridges in the printer.
