@Casay1960, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.
If your HP DeskJet 4155e All-in-One Printer is showing an "Out of Paper" error even though the tray is loaded correctly, here are some steps to help resolve the issue:
Check Paper Condition and Loading
- Use clean, white, unused paper (preferably 75–90 gsm).
- Make sure the paper is not curled, wrinkled, or damp.
- Fan the stack to prevent sheets from sticking together.
- Load paper aligned to the right side of the tray and adjust the paper width guide snugly (not too tight).
Reset the Printer
Sometimes a simple reset clears false errors:
- With the printer powered on, unplug the power cord from the back.
- Wait 60 seconds.
- Plug it back in and turn it on.
Clean the Paper Feed Rollers
Dust or debris on rollers can cause feed issues:
- You may check this link - Fix Paper Jam Errors | HP® Support
Update Printer Firmware
Outdated firmware can cause miscommunication:
- Go to HP Software and Driver Downloads
- Enter your printer model: DeskJet 4155e
- Download and install the latest firmware.
Check for Obstructions
- Open the rear access door (if available) and inspect for any small bits of paper or debris.
- Use a flashlight to check inside the paper path.
If the issue persists after trying all the above, you may need to service the printer. In that case, please visit the nearest HP authorized service center, the service team will check and assist you.
