Prints smudges, or nothing at all. Used to work fine. Tried everything

HP Recommended
HP Envy Photo 7155
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Envy Photo 7155 , used to work fine.  Then all of a sudden it just prints smudges, or nothing at all.  Same for regular document or photo.   Have removed, reinstalled, several times. tried all the trouble shooting, wasting ink and paper in the process, and nothing.   I keep Windows 10 updated.  It's possible that a Windows update messed it up?   I have 1909 installed in January.  Printer worked was installed after that, and worked fine.

At my wit's end.  Anyone else have this????

Update1:

I don't see anyone else here with this  issue.   I was able to reach their support line.  The number given to me was 888-747-8338.  Pleasantly surprised that someone picked up right away.   I spoke to a Derek.  End result, I now need to purchase new ink cartridges.  He says that the problem could  be that the current cartridges, which came in the box with the printer, are the problem, even though they still have plenty of ink.   Wow.  We'll see what happens.

Update 2:

Installed new cartridges, and so far it appears the problem has gone away.   The original cartridges I received in the box with the printer must have been defective.  The ink levels on both the black and the color cartridges read about 40% when the problem first occurred.  But at that point, they were no good. It never occurred to me that the cartridges would be bad, or that the software which monitors their status could get it so wrong -- the bad cartridges passed all the tests in the HP utilities.

No problem with the printer itself, thank goodness.  Problem with the cartridges I was given, they were bad.
