Problem printing black

HP Recommended
HP6970
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My HP 6970 does not print anymore in black. Also on the test pages no black ink is used.

Test pages are only in color.

 

I replaced the black cartridge without succes. I also cleaned the contacts of the cartridge. Still no black ink is used

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

 

Please try cleaning the printhead and let me know how it goes

 

  • From the printer control panel, open the Setup menu.

  • Open the Printer Maintenance menu.

  • If necessary, open the Tools menu, and then touch Clean Printhead.

    A test page prints.

    Example of the printhead cleaning test page

  • Examine the test page.

    • If the print quality is unacceptable, touch Clean Again to continue the next level of cleaning. If necessary, repeat these steps for the third cleaning cycle.

      note:If the printhead is badly clogged, it might require another cleaning cycle. If so, wait 30 minutes before you perform all three levels of cleaning again.

Hi, thanks for the reply. The cleaning of the printhead has been executed several times. The test page after the cleaning only shows 4 colors, no black.

Since the issue persists after cleaning the printhead, I suggest you contact HP Support for Service Options

 

1) Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/ 
2) Select your product type below.
3) Enter the serial of your device. 
4) Select the country from the drop-down. 
5) Select the chat or get phone number options based on your preferences. 
6) Fill the web-form and proceed further.
