HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 All-in-One Printer

The printer randomly prints a page with a single cedilla character (Ç).  I’ve seen other posts that claim a similar issue, but they identify the character as a “G”.  The two characters do share a resemblance.

My problem is that I’m on an instant ink program and these would seem to be eating into my monthly page count.  At the moment I have 3 pages that seem to have printed today.

Has anyone experienced similar issues? Any solutions?  The symptom has no apparent cause based on local activity/print requests.

Hi @JWL2024,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

The issue you're experiencing with your HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 printer randomly printing a single cedilla character (Ç) can be frustrating, especially if it's affecting your Instant Ink page count. Here are a few steps you can take to try to resolve the issue:

Update Printer Firmware: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. You can check for updates using the printer's control panel or the HP website. Or Click here

Check Printer Settings: Verify that the printer settings, such as paper size and type, are correctly configured. Sometimes, incorrect settings can cause unexpected characters to be printed.

Reset Printer: Try performing a power reset on your printer. Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about a minute, and then plug it back in and turn it on.

Reinstall Printer Driver: If updating the firmware and checking settings don't resolve the issue, try reinstalling the printer driver on your computer. Sometimes, corrupted driver files can cause printing problems.

If the issue persists, it may be worth contacting HP phone support for further assistance.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
