HP DeskJet 2755 All-in-One Printer

I don't see any error messages, but about once a week all the lights on top of the printer start blinking. I just hold the power button until they stop. I'm able to print so just wondering what is going on

Hi @Jonboy64,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If all the lights on your HP DeskJet 2755 All-in-One Printer start blinking once a week, but if there’s no error message and the printer still works, it’s likely due to one of the following causes:

  1. Auto Maintenance or Firmware Update Mode
    • HP printers occasionally perform self-maintenance or firmware updates.
    • During this, lights may blink in a pattern, and the printer may restart or pause briefly.

  2. Wi-Fi Connection Issue
    • If the printer temporarily loses connection to your Wi-Fi or HP Smart cloud services, it may blink all lights.
    • This is especially common if your router reboots or changes channels.

  3. HP+ or Instant Ink Status Check
    • If you're enrolled in HP+ or Instant Ink, the printer periodically checks its status online.
    • A brief disconnection or sync issue can trigger blinking lights.

  4. Power or Sleep Mode Glitch
    • Sometimes, waking the printer from sleep or power-saving mode can cause a temporary blinking state.

What You Can Do:

  • Check the HP Smart App: It often shows more detailed status messages than the printer itself.

  • Print a Printer Status Report:
    • Press the Information (i) button on the control panel.
    • This will print a page showing network and system status.

  • Update Firmware:

I hope this helps.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
