Hi, can we have a clear statement once and for all about whether all HP laser printing models being region-locked for toner or not? There's a different reply in each thread and when it starts to get clear the answer is "check your DMs".
SO, in the case of somebody moving abroad:
1. would a toner from another region work (for instance EU printer with Asia-based toner)?
2. if not, does HP support the firmware update?
3. if yes, what is the process?
4. is there a limit (one-time thing or can it be updated to another region later for people moving regularly, like every 2 years)?
Thanks

Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you move to a different country we need to perform a regional reset in order to make the printer work in the new region. I will surely help you with the Regional reset.
1. The printer should be connected using a printer USB cable to the computer.
2. You need to have the printer full feature software installed on your computer.
3. You need to have all the cartridges either from the region/country from where the printer was purchased originally or the new region/country to which you want to reset it to.
4. Make sure HP Smart App is installed too.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
