Remove and reinstall the indicated ink cartridge... (b&w)

HP Recommended
HP Envy Photo 7855

I can't print to my printer because it says "remove & reinstall the indicated cartridge, making sure it is correctly installed".  I saw a post on this forum and the response to reset the printer & clean the cartridges. I tried that without luck. Any advice?

@Laura123456789 Here's a few steps that should help resolve the issue:

Step 1: Verify the cartridge numbers

Make sure the cartridge numbers match your printer and where the country/region the printer was purchased.

Go to HP Store and verify the cartridge numbers for your printer model and country/region. Replace any incompatible cartridges.

Step 2: Reset the printer

Reset the printer to recover from printer failures.

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer.

  2. Unplug the power cord from the power source.

  3. Wait 60 seconds.

  4. Reconnect the power cord to a wall outlet and to the printer.

    NOTE:

HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

Thank you for taking the time to try & help.  I did all of these things.  Nothing works.  I didn't change the cartridge or anything to prompt this error.  It just popped up without me doing anything.  I am part of the ink club thing, but not sure it will prompt a reorder if I don't "use" enough prints. Maybe I just need a new cartridge?  I'm incredibly frustrated because we really rely on this printer these days due to working from home & kids in school...etc.

@Laura123456789 If none of that worked, I'm afraid you'll need new cartridges, and I suggest you talk to HP support and discuss your options, follow the below steps to get started:

1) Click on this link - http://www.hp.com/contacthp/

2) Click on Sign-in or select the product using the below step:

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Click on "Show Options".

Fill the web-form, to populate a case number and phone number for yourself!

Also, if you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty, if yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from,

here's how private messages work: Click here for details.

If you wish to thank me for my efforts, you could click on "Accept as solution" on my post as the solution should help others too.
