I have recently moved from the US to Mexico.  I have 4 ink cartridges for the Mexico region and would appreciate instructions on how to change the region on my printer so these ink cartridges will work.

Thank you BH.  Actually, this is what I am attempting to do.  I got to this site from the "HP Support Contact" page:

(https://support.hp.com/my-en/contact-hp/product/hp-officejet-pro-8600-e-all-in-one-printer-series-n9...).  There is no option to call anyone...the only option it gives me, is to come to this community location and make a post.  If you know a means of actually contacting a real person at HP, please let me know.

Thanks,

Bryan

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Yes, we'll have to do a region reset.

To do a printer region reset you need to meet the following conditions:

1. The printer should be connected using a printer USB cable to the computer.

2. You need to have the printer full feature software installed on your computer. Also, please tell us the operating system on your Computer.

3. You need to have all the cartridges either from the region from where the printer was purchased originally or the new region to which you want to reset it to.

Please do let us know.

If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the "Accept as solution" button, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Thanks!

Have a great day!

Hello Betty,

The challenge for me is #1...I don't have a USB printer cable.  I will have to procure one.  By full feature software, I have "HP Smart" installed on my MacBook.  It is running macOS 11.2.1.  Will that work?  If a WIndows computer is needed, I have another laptop with Win10 installed.  Please advise regarding the software and O/S.  I will reach out once I have a USB printer cable.

Thanks,

Bryan

Okay, I have the requisite printer USB cable now.  Per my earlier post, I can use either macOS 11.2.1 or WIn 10, both using HP Smart.   Per my original post, I have all 4 inks for the Mexico region.  Please advise next steps.

Thanks,

Bryan
