It has already been determined that my printer should be replaced (F0.01.01.02 error). However, the HP representative wants to send me a link within an email that I click and then give my credit card information so that they have "collateral" against the possibility that I don't return the original printer.
Clicking on links within emails is highly discouraged, particularly when you can't confirm who sent it, due to phishing and other problems.
I have requested that HP send me a shipping label for the defective printer and then once they receive the defective model, ship out my replacement. This offer has been refused.
Can someone help me so that I don't have to put my financial information on a link in an email? There is no way for me to ascertain whether or not the link will be safe and I'm working with agents outside of the US and outside of US legal jurisdiction.
Thank you.

Odd, in the past you had both options and I wonder why HP would discontinue that practice. I have escalated your post to the moderators as most people on here answering questions are in no position to resolve an issue like that.
