HP PageWide Pro 477dw Multifunction Printer

Hi,

I'm trying to configure Scan to Email on my HP PageWide Pro 477dw MFP. I use a 3rd-party SMTP relay provided by Mailgun. My SMTP information works absolutely fine, as I can use it in any SMTP client of my own. Now, the strange thing is that it appears to only work with outgoing email profiles, but not with the global profile. My need is simple. I want my staff to send scans to themselves (by browsing the address book) from a static email address that is authorized in my SMTP relay.

Let's say, I want to send scans from mail1 to mail2 (mine).

So, here are my global settings, where I want my users to only be able to send emails to themselves (via the address book), from a predefined sender (my SMTP user):

hp_set_glo.png

And, here are my custom outgoing profile, where I have put the very same SMTP information:

hp_set_pro_1.pnghp_set_pro_2.png

With those settings, when I test the global outgoing profile, I get the following error:

hp_fail.png

And, when using it from the printer itself, it says that one or more recipients were rejected by the SMTP server. But, the custom outgoing profile with the same information works... Any thoughts on how they're different but still the same?

Thanks!

---

Edit: The screenshots of my custom outgoing profiles were censored. Even though they do not contain sensitive info because the hostname and port of Mailgun, a public provider, are global. It was there to give visual hints, but you'll have to trust me when I say that both have the same settings while only one works! 😉
