I don't seem to be able to find where can I physically plug in my USB device for scanning, and there's no option to setup Scan To Network Folder on HP Web Admin site. I did check Administrator section, any help is appreciated, thanks.

Hi,

Your printer does not offer scanning to a USB host or to a network folder, such features are only offered for select models with a full display touch screen (Such as the M227fdw model for example), not for any printer with a buttons menu such as the M148fdw menu

 

To scan, open the HP Scan or the HP Smart software on your computer, this cannot be done from the printer front panel and requires the scanning software:
