Hi @Frustrated325 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP Product. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

It sounds like your HP OfficeJet Pro 8028 printer might be encountering a software glitch.

Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:

  • Restart the Printer: You've already tried this, but it's worth trying again. Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a couple of minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on again.
  • Reset the Printer: Sometimes a reset can clear out temporary issues. Locate the reset button on your printer (usually a small hole) and use a paperclip or similar tool to press and hold the reset button for about 10 seconds. After that, release it and allow the printer to restart.
  • Remove and Reinsert Cartridges: Open the printer cover and remove the ink cartridges. Check them for any damage or debris, then reinsert them firmly into their slots. Make sure they click into place.
  • Update Firmware: Check if there's a firmware update available for your printer. You can usually do this through the printer's settings menu or by visiting the HP support website and downloading the latest firmware for your model. Update the firmware on an HP printer
  • Factory Reset: If none of the above steps work, you might need to perform a factory reset. Keep in mind that this will erase all custom settings and configurations, so only do this if necessary. Look for instructions on how to perform a factory reset in your printer's user manual

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
