Set Up Officejet Pro 9015 Mystery Diagram

HP Recommended
OfficeJet Pro 9015
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am working remotely with my mother, so I do not know really where this picture is. But my mother says

I have managed to be completely mystified by one portion of the insides of the printer.  I'm sending you a photo of the  portion where it seems to suggest I take out the blue gadget.   I did that and now can't get it back in!  And when I try to return it to where it had been I can't "seat" it quite right and the printer will not close. P8130929_1.jpg

Please, what is this diagram about????
