HP Ink Tank Wireless 419
Microsoft Windows 11

Solid black boxes are printing along with text die to which somewhere texts are not visible. Colours are coming fine except black. Ink is sufficient in the tank.

Hi @Naveen266,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you might be dealing with a printing issue related to clogged printheads or ink nozzles. Here’s a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issue with your HP Ink Tank Wireless 419 printer.

Check Ink Levels and Quality

  • Ensure that the black ink tank has sufficient ink. Even though you mentioned it’s sufficient, it’s good to double-check.
  • Check the quality of the black ink by performing a printhead cleaning cycle (if your printer has this feature). This can be done through the printer’s menu on the control panel.

Run Printhead Cleaning

  • Most HP Ink Tank printers have an option to clean the printhead from the printer's control panel.
  • Navigate through the printer menu to find the printhead cleaning option. This process helps clear any clogs or dried ink that might be obstructing the nozzles.

Manual Cleaning (if necessary)

  • If the automatic printhead cleaning doesn’t resolve the issue, you might need to manually clean the printheads.
  • Turn off the printer to avoid any accidents.
  • Open the printer cover to access the printheads. Refer to your printer’s manual for specific instructions on accessing and removing the printheads.
  • Carefully clean the printheads using a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with distilled water. Gently wipe the printhead nozzles to remove any dried ink or debris.
  • After cleaning, allow the printheads to dry completely before reinstalling them and testing the printer again.

Check Print Quality Settings

  • Sometimes, adjusting the print quality settings can improve the output. Ensure that the print quality is set to a sufficient level for clear text and graphics.

Update Printer Firmware

  • Ensure your printer has the latest firmware installed. Sometimes, firmware updates include improvements that can resolve print quality issues.

Use Genuine HP Ink

  • Ensure you are using genuine HP ink cartridges. Non-genuine cartridges can sometimes cause printing problems or poor print quality.

Print a Quality Diagnostic Report

  • Most HP printers have a diagnostic report option that can help identify any specific issues with the print quality. Refer to your printer’s manual for instructions on how to print a diagnostic report.

By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and resolve the issue of solid black boxes printing along with text on your HP Ink Tank Wireless 419 printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
