HP Color LaserJet Pro 3201dw Printer

My HP PRO 3201 suddenly reads that it has been authorized to use ONLY HP cartridges.  I have been using non-HP cartridges successfully for 5-6 months.  I cannot see where to change that.  It is connect by USC, to a single  PC

Did you just change a cartridge? Did you happen to buy a different 3rd party than before? If yes, then likely the vendor of your newest cartridge does not include a chip on the cartridge. Assuming you are only connected via USB and not connected to the internet via wifi, you can rule an updated firmware as the cause. If your printer has an internet connection then it is possible and automatic update has allowed the printer to detect a non-confirming cartridge. HP literature is clear that depending on the printer, for some you can use 3rd party but they caution that firmware updates may cause previously working cartridges to stop working.

Thanks for the suggestions, but I have tried to follow instructions as to the way to get the printer to accept the cartridges that have been working well unti about 10 days ago.

I have just removed all cartridges, and put them back in.  Printer off, and back on.  Still seems to think these are "unauthorized " cartridges, and the wording as to  how to CHANGE the authorization doesn't quite match up to the menu wording.

I have worked with HP printers for about 20 years, and do know that they are somewhat particular about settings and sequences.  However, this printer baffles me right now...and cannot print out the directions of some of the lengthy "fixes"...

Just now I have  a new message, "The indicated supplies are not communicating with the printer"...

Reinstalling the cartridges and will try again.  The message says "Low Behavior", as if they were not polite or such...any translations?
