HI @Harry1236,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're receiving a supply error message after changing the original cartridges in your HP Color LaserJet Pro M255dw printer, it could indicate several potential issues. Here's what you can do to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:
1. Verify Cartridge Installation:
- Ensure Proper Installation: Double-check that the new cartridges are installed correctly in their respective slots. Make sure they are securely seated and properly aligned.
2. Remove and Reinsert Cartridges:
- Turn Off the Printer: Press the power button to turn off the printer.
- Open Cartridge Access Door: Open the front door or cartridge access door of the printer to access the cartridges.
- Remove Cartridges: Carefully remove the new cartridges from their slots.
- Inspect Cartridges: Check for any damage or protective tape that might still be on the cartridges.
- Reinsert Cartridges: Place the cartridges back into their respective slots, ensuring they click firmly into place.
- Close Cartridge Access Door: Close the front door or cartridge access door of the printer.
3. Check Cartridge Compatibility:
- Original Cartridges: Ensure that you're using genuine HP cartridges that are compatible with your HP Color LaserJet Pro M255dw printer. Using non-genuine or incompatible cartridges can sometimes cause supply error messages.
4. Update Printer Firmware:
- Check for Updates: Visit the HP Support website and check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer model.
- Install Updates: If updates are available, download and install them following the provided instructions. Firmware updates can often resolve compatibility issues and other printer errors.
5. Restart Printer:
- Turn Off the Printer: Press the power button to turn off the printer.
- Unplug Power Cord: Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer and wait for about 60 seconds.
- Plug In Power Cord: Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
- Turn On the Printer: Press the power button to turn on the printer and see if the error persists.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
