Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Wife's HP 8702 printer has all new cartridges installed. She does not know her account number and contact number may be a landline not capable of messaging.

Checked cartridge seating, looked for tape on cartridges, reseated cartridges and cartridge carrier.

Followed online steps for exact same problem other users reported. Did not work.

Purged all print jobs. Did a system and printer disconnect and hard start. Problem persists; cannot print or perform any printer maintenance functions.

I have had similar problems with my HP plotter caused by full ink drop reservoir. Please help by online chat or contact me on my cell phone (319)430-8046, Tom.

Only one of the posted solutions relate to the system supply problem. Your reply was a few general problems and not solutions. Same as you gave the community repeated without success by the users who stated they tried the solutions without success. You listed them as accepted solutions and closed their conversations. None of the others are useful whatsoever.

I performed all the community's similar issues and solutions, have inspected the cartridges, shook them to confirm they are full of ink, replaced cartridges with new, original HP ink cartridges, reseated the print carriage many times, cleaned the contacts, cleared the print queue, and soft and hard started the printer. None of these work. I believe the problem may lie with the head cleaning waste ink reservoir.

Please have someone who knows contact me via email so I may repair my wife's printer.

@Betty20201, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Check for Errors on the Printer Display

Look for any error codes or warnings on the printer's screen. If there’s an error, make a note of it.

Reset the Printer

Turn off the printer.

Unplug it for 1 minute.

Plug it back in and turn it on.

Run Printer Diagnostics

If possible, run a diagnostic test using the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool (download it here).

Check Ink System

Make sure the cartridges are properly seated and not clogged.

If the printer has a waste ink reservoir, check if it’s full. If it is, it might need to be cleaned or replaced.

Update Firmware

Check for any firmware updates for your printer on the HP website or through the HP Smart app.

Clear Print Queue

On your computer, go to Devices and Printers, right-click your printer, and clear any stuck print jobs.

Check Connections

If using Wi-Fi, reset the connection to the printer.

If using USB, try a different port or cable.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
