Hi @jwoloshen ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing your HP Tango X printer isn't pulling in paper, it could be due to several issues, such as a paper feed problem, a blockage, or worn rollers. Here's a step-by-

1. Check the Paper

  • Inspect for Quality: Use clean, unbent, and good-quality paper. Avoid damaged or curled sheets.
  • Load Properly: Ensure the paper is loaded correctly into the tray, aligning with the paper width guides. Do not overfill the tray.

2. Inspect for Obstructions

  • Remove the paper from the input tray.
  • Use a flashlight to check inside for any debris, jammed paper, or foreign objects.
  • If you see any obstructions, carefully remove them.

3. Clean the Rollers

The rollers might be dirty or worn, preventing proper paper feeding.

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Locate the paper feed rollers (inside the input area).
  • Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water to clean the rollers. Rotate them gently to clean all sides.
  • Let them dry for 10–15 minutes before reconnecting the printer.

4. Reset the Printer

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Unplug it for at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and power it on.

5. Update the Firmware

  • Ensure your printer's firmware is up-to-date.
  • Use the HP Smart app to check for and install firmware updates.

6. Run a Diagnostic Test

  • Use the HP Smart app to perform a hardware diagnostic or print a test page.
  • If the paper still doesn't feed, note any error messages displayed.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
