I have an OfficeJet 5255, and today I tried switching my empty 63 cartridge with a 63XL. The screen on the printer says "The indicated cartridges are not intended for use in this printer. Then I got confused because the HP product specifications include XL cartridges, and the cartridge packaging includes my printer. My warranty went out a couple months ago, so HP tech support won't talk to me about it unless I sign up for their instant ink. Do I find a printer manufacturer that has better tech support and switch?
Problem solved for now. As luck would have it, my job has entire boxes of 63XL in a storage room. Only 1 out of the first 3 cartridges worked, so I'm just assuming there was an unusual amount of duds in the box.
