The option for color or black & white is missing. Prints only in color.

OfficeJet 6700
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Trying to print in black & white. Not finding the usual color button that allows the change to black & white.

Found gray scale & turned it on, made no difference. Color printed. Anyone have this experience &/or know where to find the option to change color to black & white? OfficeJet 6700 & Word being used. TIA.

Hi @Dalmidt,

I'd like to help!

To better assist you -

1) Does the copy print out the same way?

2) What's the application you are trying to print from? Have you tried printing from a different application or device?

While you respond to that, let's print a Print Quality Diagnostic page -

  1. Load plain white paper into the input tray.

  2. On the printer control panel, touch the Right Arrow () to display more options.

  3. Touch Setup (). The Setup Menu displays.

  4. Touch the Down Arrow (), and then touch Reports.

  5. Touch Print Quality Report. The test page prints.

Post the Print Quality Diagnostic page here so we can help you further.

You may also refer to this document with steps to fix the " Print Quality Issues" issue applicable for your printer -  Print Quality Issues

Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
