HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-All-in-One Printer - N911a
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

We have an older HP Officejet Pro 8600 all in one printer, scanner, fax.  The power light fades off and on and we are not receiving faxes.  People sending us a fax get a now answer message.  What does that mean?

I'd like to help!

 

I understand you are unable to receive fax.

 

As the printer is turning off and on, the fax is unable to successfully print , hence the no answer message.

 

Try the below suggestions -

 

 Reset the product

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

 Also, try updating the printer's firmware -HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

 

If the error persists,
