Product: HP DeskJet 2724 All-in-One Printer
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11

The problem is that when I connect the printer on the cable, it connects to the laptop, but when I configure it with the laptop and wifi, the printer goes through the whole configuration process and at the end it can't finish. I'm doing everything right, Direct is on, I'm following the instructions. Sometimes the wifi is on as if it was connected and shows the printer and then that it is not there.

Suggestion

If you are not using Wi-Fi Direct, consider switching (toggle) Wi-Fi Direct to OFF

Wi-Fi Direct = Wireless Connect without a router

 

True - Wireless and Wi-Fi Direct can both be configured but it might be confusing and seem contradictory when you are trying to troubleshoot. 

 

Switch OFF the one you are not using and fix the other.
