Hi @cp10252,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP printer is experiencing an issue with the toner installation, and the blinking lights with the attention light typically indicate a problem.

Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot this issue.

Check Toner Installation

  • Remove and Reinstall Toners: Ensure that each toner cartridge is correctly seated in its slot. Sometimes, a toner might not be properly aligned or seated, causing errors.
  • Verify Toner Cartridge Compatibility: Make sure the toner cartridges are compatible with your printer model. Check the part numbers to confirm compatibility.

Inspect Toner Cartridges

  • Check for Damage: Examine the toner cartridges for any visible damage or leaks. Damaged cartridges can cause issues.
  • Remove Protective Tape: Ensure that any protective tape or packaging material has been removed from the toner cartridges.

Printer Reset

  • Power Cycle: Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Wait for a few minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes reset the internal error.

Check Printer Error Codes

  • Error Code Documentation: Look for any error codes displayed on the printer screen or on the LED lights. Consult the printer’s manual or HP’s support website for information on what these codes mean and how to resolve them.

Firmware Update

  • Update Printer Firmware: Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer model. Sometimes, firmware updates can resolve hardware and software issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
