Hi @Jazzyb03,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

To turn off automatic firmware updates on your HP ENVY 5532 e-All-in-One Printer, follow these methods since the option might not be available directly on the printer screen:

1: Using the Embedded Web Server (EWS)

If your printer is connected to a network (Wi-Fi or Ethernet), you can disable updates via the printer's web interface:

Find the Printer’s IP Address:

  • On the printer control panel, tap Wireless (Wi-Fi) icon to view the IP address (e.g., 192.168.1.100).

Access the Embedded Web Server (EWS):

  • Open a web browser on your computer and type the printer's IP address in the address bar (e.g., http://192.168.1.100).

Disable Web Services:

  • Go to the Web Services or HP ePrint tab.
  • Disable Web Services, which usually disables automatic updates as well.
  • Click Apply to save changes.

Check Firmware Update Settings:

  • Navigate to Settings > Printer Update and look for options to disable automatic updates.
  •

2: Using HP Smart App (Windows/Mac)

  1. Download and open the HP Smart app from HP's website.
  2. Select your HP ENVY 5532 printer.
  3. Go to Advanced Settings (this opens the EWS interface in a browser).
  4. Follow the steps in Method 1 to disable updates.

3: Uninstall HP Update Software

  1. Open Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features on your computer.
  2. Find and uninstall any HP software related to firmware updates (e.g., HP Update or HP Support Assistant).
  3. Disable automatic updates within the HP Support Assistant if installed.

4: Block HP Update URLs via Router Settings

If none of the above options work, you can block HP's update servers on your router:

  1. Log into your router settings (usually by entering 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 in a browser).
  2. Look for Parental Controls or Website Blocking.
  3. Add HP's update servers to the block list:

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
