Hi @55alive
Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.
The error codes you’re seeing (UA_500 and _EBOOOU0415) usually appear during printer setup in the HP App when the account, network, or hardware initialization doesn’t complete.
The good news is that this can often be resolved by refreshing the setup process and checking a few key points.
Step 1: Restart the setup process
- Close the HP App completely on your computer or mobile device.
- Power off the printer, wait 30 seconds, then power it back on.
- Reopen the HP App and try adding the printer again.
Step 2: Check your internet connection
- Make sure your Wi-Fi is stable and that your device is connected to the same network you want the printer to join.
- Avoid guest networks or those with special restrictions.
- If possible, connect to a 2.4 GHz band, which is more reliable for printers.
Step 3: Verify printer hardware setup
- Ensure all packaging materials, protective tapes, and orange clips have been removed from inside the printer.
- Confirm that the ink cartridges are properly installed and the access door is closed.
- Check that paper is loaded correctly in the tray.
Step 4: Reconnect the printer in the HP App
- In the HP App, select “+” to add a printer.
- Follow the prompts to connect the printer to Wi-Fi.
- Enter your Wi-Fi name and password carefully.
- Wait until the printer shows a solid blue wireless light, indicating a successful connection.
Step 5: Account activation
- If the error appears during account sign-in, log out of the HP App and sign back in.
- Make sure your HP account credentials are correct.
- Try using a different device (phone or PC) to complete the setup if the error persists.

HP app errors during setup and account registration
By refreshing the setup, checking the Wi-Fi, and ensuring the printer hardware is ready, you should be able to move past the error codes and complete installation. The solid blue wireless light will be your sign that the printer is connected and ready.
