Subject: URGENT: [HP DeskJet Ink Advantage2676] - Not Printing (Wired/Wireless), Continuous Error Lights (Info, Ink, Power)

Dear HP Support Team,

I am writing to report a critical issue with my printer, which has stopped functioning entirely.

Product Details:

  • Model Name: HP DeskJet Ink Advantage2676

  • Purchase Date (Approximate): [April, 2020]

Problem Description:

The printer is currently unable to print documents either wirelessly or when connected directly via USB. It is completely unresponsive to all print jobs.

Specific Error Symptoms:

The device is stuck in an unknown error state, indicated by the following lights glowing continuously (not blinking, but solid illumination):

  1. Info Button/Light

  2. Reprint Button/Light

  3. Ink Cartridge Light/Indicator

  4. Power Button/Light

I have attempted basic troubleshooting steps, including:

  • Power cycling the printer (turning it off, unplugging for 60 seconds, and plugging it back in).

  • Attempting print jobs via both Wi-Fi and direct USB connection.

  • Checking the paper trays and ensuring no physical jams are present.

Given that the combination of the Info, Reprint, Ink, and Power lights are all glowing constantly, I suspect this is a critical hardware or firmware error requiring specialized assistance.

Could you please advise on the next steps, including potential remote diagnostics, repair options, or an RMA process?

Hi @Sahil78788

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I’m really sorry your HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 2676 is stuck with continuous error lights and won’t respond to print jobs—it’s deeply frustrating when the printer locks up and basic steps don’t resolve it. You’ve done everything right by power cycling, checking connections, and observing the exact light pattern.

Let’s walk through a focused recovery path to help restore functionality.

Step-by-step actions to recover your HP DeskJet 2676 from error state

1. Perform a semi-full reset

This clears internal memory and may resolve firmware lockups.

  1. Power on the printer.
  2. Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer while it’s still on.
  3. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  4. Wait 60 seconds.
  5. Press and hold the Power button and Cancel button together.
  6. While holding both buttons, reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  7. Continue holding the buttons for 15 seconds, then release.

The printer should restart and attempt to reinitialize. If successful, the lights will blink briefly and then settle.

2. Check cartridge seating and ink system

  • Open the cartridge access door.
  • Remove both cartridges.
  • Clean the copper contacts gently with a lint-free cloth.
  • Reinsert cartridges firmly until they click into place.
  • Close the door and wait for the printer to recalibrate.

Misaligned or oxidized contacts can trigger persistent ink and info light errors.

3. Use HP’s Diagnose & Fix tool

If the printer powers on but remains unresponsive:

This checks for driver, connection, and firmware issues.

4. Reinstall the printer driver

If the printer is detected but won’t print:

Let me know how the printer responds after these steps. If the lights remain solid and the printer doesn’t reset, we can test with alternate cartridges or USB-only setup. You’ve done everything right by staying observant—I’ll be here to guide you further if needed.
