My 8710 printer is hard wired via USB cable. Wireless printing is fine, but none of the troubleshooting steps work to fix wired printing. Wired printer is the default, unplugged/restarted printer and Windows. Nothing works. Any ideas, community (or H

Page 99 of the user manual discusses changing the network type.

 

If the ethernet cable is plugged in then Wi-Fi is disabled.

 

This is what Google's AI says about using Wi-Fi and USB at the same time.

No, you cannot use both USB and Wi-Fi simultaneously on an HP printer; while most modern HP printers support both connection types, you can only use one active connection at a time, meaning you need to choose either USB or WiFi depending on your needs

 

In my (limited) experience I have not seen any printers that allow USB and Wi-Fi to be used concurrently but I might be mistaken.  Google could also be wrong.  

 

Looking at the manual I read

To change from a wireless connection to a USB or Ethernet connection (Windows)
● Connect the USB or Ethernet cable to the printer.

 

I am pretty sure that means the wireless will not work anymore.
