USB causes printer error - HP Officejet Pro 8620

HP Recommended
Officejet Pro 8620

Hello,

The Officejet Pro that I have had been working normally until today when all the screen read was "please turn printer off, then on."

I followed the steps on this link which solved the issue, and when I put the USB drive that I normally use to store scanned documents in, the error occurred once again, which was easily solved by just taking the drive out and restarting the printer.

I plugged in another USB drive, which prompted an error stating that the device was either corrupt or uses an unsupported format, then the same USB drive aformentioned, which caused the error once again. Both USBs were opened easily in my computers and could transfer files between computers without issue.

Is my printer's USB slot broken or is my USB drive corrupting my printer?
