HP Office Jet Pro 9010 series
macOS 10.15 Catalina

The only model identification on my printer is the one shown above in Product Name.  This series is sold in Canada.  The printer works perfectly with my i Mac except for the scan function.  When attempting to scan I get a message on the printer to visit 123 hp.com on a windows computer and to download full HP software.  The software correctly identifies the presence of the printer, but next I get the message on my computer that the system " was not able to automatically locate any software options for this product.  Please go to the HP website and search for product solutions there.  I tried that and found the printer but got a message

Detected operating system:

mac OS 10.15 Choose a different OS

WHAT DO I DO NOW?  Would the app HP Smart solve the problem without interfering with the other printer functions?

@DonKeyshot1, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Update your MAC software to 10.15.4

Click the Apple icon > About This Mac > Software Update and install any available update.

Are you trying to scan from the printer screen using the 'scan to computer' option?

If yes, kindly install the HP Utility from here on your MAC.

Open the utility window. Under Scan Settings, click Scan to Computer, then make sure the Enable Scan to Computer checkbox is selected.

If you are trying to scan regularly from the MAC, you may use the HP Smart app or refer to this document to know different methods to scan.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
