Printer was working fine then suddenly stopped, I have reset printer to factory settings and reinstalled on HP app. Printer a single page and now has an orange flashing light in the corner where you lift up printer top, and a solid orange glow on the bar across the middle. I have checked cartridges (all fine), no paper jam, and as I said - it has printed a single page fine so does work. The printer still appears on my phone and the app and I can send pages to the printer which appears to accept them then nothing happens. I have cleared the queue to no avail.

Any ideas beyond chucking it out the window?

Hi @Aaarrrgh2,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thanks for reaching out. Based on the orange flashing light near the scanner lid and the solid orange light bar across the printer, it sounds like your HP ENVY 6032e is in an error or attention state.

To clarify, HP printers—especially models like the ENVY 6032e that use HP+—are designed to work only with genuine HP ink cartridges. If third-party, refilled, or remanufactured cartridges are installed, the printer may not recognize them, and it can result in errors, blinking lights, or the inability to print.

Here’s What You Can Do:

  1. Check Cartridge Status:
    • Make sure you're using the original HP cartridges that came with the printer or genuine HP replacements (e.g., HP 305 or 305XL, depending on your region).
    • Remove and reinsert the cartridges firmly.

  2. Check the HP Smart App:
    • Open the app and tap on your printer.
    • Look for any messages or alerts that may explain what the printer needs—often, it will indicate if there's a cartridge issue or a setup step pending.

  3. Power Cycle the Printer:
    • Turn off the printer and unplug it for 2 minutes.
    • Plug it back in, turn it on, and try printing again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
