Hi @papi2luv

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for explaining that. If your HP DeskJet 2755 is showing a “Door Open” error even though the door is securely closed, it’s likely due to a misaligned sensor, residual packing material, or a firmware glitch. Here’s how to fix it:

Step-by-Step Fix for “Door Open” Error on HP 2755

Check All Doors and Covers:

  • Ensure that all covers and doors are securely closed, including the main access door, ink cartridge access door, and rear door (if applicable).
  • Firmly press down on each door to make sure it is latched correctly.

Inspect for Obstructions:

  • Check for any obstructions or debris that might prevent the door from closing properly.
  • Gently remove any paper or other obstacles that could interfere with the door sensors.

Remove and Reinsert Ink Cartridges:

  • Open the ink cartridge access door, remove the ink cartridges, and reinsert them securely.
  • Close the cartridge access door firmly.

Restart the Printer:

  • Turn off your printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for 60 seconds before plugging it back in and powering it on.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Visit the HP Support website to verify if there are any firmware updates available for your printer model.
  • Download and install any updates to ensure the printer operates correctly.

Reset the Printer:

  • Sometimes, a simple reset can clear error messages and restore functionality.
  • Turn off the printer, unplug the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet, and then wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and the printer, then turn it on.

If the error persists after these steps, the door sensor may be faulty or stuck. Let me know what happens after the reset—I’ll guide you further if needed.

You're clearly doing everything right, and we’ll get your printer back to work.
