Unusual colour printing issue

HPENVY 4520 all in one printer series
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My printer will print writing and text in color i.e. word documents and the test page but will only print in black and white for images. This includes printing image direct from source or if pasted into a word document for example. Cartridges are all ok and I have un installed / re installed software and downloaded full software. Disconnected and reconnected printer. Restarted the computer. Used the virtual agent advice, but still not working. Oddly also I have found that I am unable to select color preference on general printer preference as well. Any help or advice would be appreciated as I only really use the printer for image prints.

In addition, i just also tried a color PDF and it came out black and white.

Hi,

Print and evaluate a Printer Status Report to endure the hardware can print colors with no issues and the results are similar to the shown sample:

Once verifying this, if the report has any print quality problem or missing colors please follow these steps:

If the report is printed successfully, try following below version of the HP Print and Scan Doctor Utility by selecting your printer:

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/printers/hppsdr/patches/HPPSdr.exe

 

Be sure to restart your PC and allow the utility to complete the process, then check for any difference.

 

Try printing and check for any change, if the same remains try printing using the newly added print queue copy and check.
