HP Color LaserJet Managed Flow MFP E786z

Hello 🙂

Working with a HP Color LaserJet Flow E78625.

Driver version:  2.14.0.231016 (Dec 3, 2023)

On macOS Sonoma 14.5 (23F79).

Trying to print a booklet (center stapled and folded) with Adobe InDesign 19.4.

After updating the macOS, the print job is getting stuck in cue with the message: 'Stopped, "filter" failed'. Other applications are able to successfully print (eg. Apple Preview) although not in the booklet format. I'm using the newest driver as far as I can tell.

If I switch to the Apple  AirPrint driver, the job will print - but incorrectly, no matter how I finagle the settings. Depending on the settings, the closest I seem to get is either a hardcopy with the correct page layout and order but not stapled and folded. Or a hard copy that is stapled and folded, but in the wrong order/layout. My current work-around is to print the unfolded/unstapled version and use the copier to copy it and fold and staple.

Is this just an issue of waiting until a new HP driver is compatible with the new macOS? I've worked with support from Apple, Adobe and the company that leases the printer. No one has been able to figure it out.
