I have a 1 year old HP laptop and a HP laserjet pro MFP M127fw printer.  For the first year, printing was not a problem.  When I print now, it prints in the top right corner smaller and overlapping with repeats and incomplete info.  This problem is on 3 identical laptops interfacing with two identical printers at different offices.

Hi there @ActiveLife, and welcome to HP Support Community!

Thank you for reaching out with your concern. I'm glad to assist you today.

I understand you're experiencing a strange printing issue where documents are printing smaller, in the top-right corner, with overlapping and repeated content. Since this is happening across multiple identical laptops and printers, it’s likely a driver or software-related issue, possibly due to a recent Windows or application update.

Let’s walk through the steps to resolve this:

Check the Printer Driver

Sometimes Windows updates can replace the original HP driver with a generic one, causing formatting issues.

  1. Press Windows + R, type control printers, and press Enter.
  2. Right-click your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M127fw printer > Printer Properties.
  3. Go to the Advanced tab and check the Driver name.
    • If it says "Microsoft IPP Class Driver" or anything generic, you’ll need to reinstall the correct HP driver. Official HP® Support

Uninstall and Reinstall the Printer

  1. Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
  2. Select your printer > Remove.
  3. Restart the PC.
  4. Reinstall using the full HP software package from the link above.

Check Print Settings in Application

If you're printing from Word, Excel, or a browser:

  • Open the document > go to File > Print.
  • Click Printer Properties or Preferences.
  • Ensure:
    • Paper size is set to A4 or Letter.
    • Scaling is set to 100% or None.
    • Page layout is set to Normal (not booklet or multiple pages per sheet).

Update Firmware (Optional but Recommended)

Outdated firmware can cause compatibility issues.

Test with HP Smart App

Install the HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store and try printing a test page. This helps isolate whether the issue is with the printer or the application.

Try Printing from Another App

Try printing a PDF using Adobe Acrobat Reader or a simple text file using Notepad. If the issue persists across all apps, it confirms a driver or firmware issue.
