macOS 10.15 Catalina

I set up the printer but there is a message stating 'user action required at printer'. Hence, the document for print goes to a  queue and the printer error light starts blinking. Once that is clicked then printing starts. So the document does not automatically print. It is because I have Mac OS Catalina?

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the connectivity issue. 

 

To better assist you - 

  • Are you using a USB hub?
  • Is there antivirus software installed on your Mac? If yes, please try disabling it and check if it works.

Meanwhile, ensure that the printer is up to date with its firmware and Mac is up to date with its software. If you are unsure you may use the links below to update the printer firmware and Mac software:
