Hi @ariel8601,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

The “Validating” message on your HP printer screen usually appears when the printer is checking the authenticity of the ink cartridges or verifying your HP account (especially if the printer is enrolled in HP+ or Instant Ink). Even after installing new cartridges, this can happen if:

  • The printer is not connected to the internet (required for HP+ printers).
  • The cartridges are not genuine HP or are not recognized.
  • There’s a sync issue with your HP account.

Quick Fix Steps

1. Check Internet Connection

  • On the printer, go to Settings → Network Setup → Wireless Settings.
  • Make sure it’s connected to Wi-Fi and the signal is strong.

2. Confirm Cartridge Authenticity

  • Ensure you’re using genuine HP cartridges.
  • If enrolled in Instant Ink, make sure the cartridges are the ones sent by HP.

3. Sign In to HP Account

4. Update Firmware

5. Restart the Printer

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Unplug it for 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and power on.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
