When I print a color image, on plain paper, it comes out with vertical stripes of blue and some of the blue background is pink. The colors are all pretty "off". It was doing it a lot a month ago or so, but then I printed some back and white photos and they all came out fine. Then it started printing the stripes again. My ink supply appears fine. I'm not low on any colors. Help!

Hi @MaryC6,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The issue you're experiencing with your HP OfficeJet Pro 8035 printer producing vertical stripes of incorrect colors when printing color images could be caused by several factors. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow to try and resolve the problem.
- Check Ink Levels: Make sure that your printer has sufficient ink levels in all the color cartridges (cyan, magenta, yellow). Low or empty ink cartridges can result in color inconsistencies.
- Clean Print Heads: The printhead nozzles may be clogged, causing improper color output. You can usually find a cleaning option in your printer's settings or through the printer software on your computer. Running a printhead cleaning cycle may help.
- Align the Print Heads: Some printers have an alignment process that ensures the printheads are correctly aligned for accurate color printing. Check your printer's manual or settings for this option.
- Check Paper Quality: Ensure that you are using high-quality, plain paper that is compatible with your printer. Low-quality or incompatible paper can affect print quality.
- Update Printer Drivers: Make sure you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. Outdated drivers can sometimes lead to printing issues.
- Color Calibration: Some printers have a color calibration feature that can help improve color accuracy. Check your printer's settings or manual for instructions on how to calibrate the colors.
- Print a Test Page: Many printers have a test page option that can help diagnose color issues. Print a test page and see if the color bars on the test page match what you expect.
- Check Color Settings: Ensure that your color settings in the printing software match the settings you want. Sometimes, software settings can override printer settings.
- Inspect Cartridges: Examine the color ink cartridges for any leakage or damage. If you see any issues, replace the affected cartridges.
- Software Update: Ensure that both your printer's firmware and your computer's operating system are up to date. Sometimes, software updates can resolve compatibility issues.
- Environmental Factors: Environmental conditions, such as temperature and humidity, can affect print quality. Ensure that your printer is operating within the recommended environmental conditions specified in the manual.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
