Hi @e-p8,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The error code 0xb8412a30 on your HP OfficeJet Pro 9020 All-in-One Printer typically indicates a hardware failure or communication issue. This error can sometimes be triggered by problems with the printer's internal components, like the printhead, paper feed mechanism, or other crucial systems.

Here’s what you can try to resolve the issue.

Power Cycle the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the wall outlet.
  • Wait for at least 60 seconds to allow any internal memory to reset.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

Check for Paper Jams:

  • Open the printer’s access areas (front and back) to ensure there are no paper jams or debris.
  • Remove any stuck paper carefully and close everything back.

Check for Printhead or Ink Cartridge Issues:

  • Open the printer and make sure the printhead is properly installed.
  • Remove and reinstall the ink cartridges to ensure they’re seated properly.

Firmware Update:

  • Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware. If you can access the printer’s settings, check for any available updates.

Restore Printer to Factory Settings:

  • If nothing else works, you might need to reset the printer to its factory settings. This can usually be done from the printer’s menu or settings page.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
