I am trying to print some Thanksgiving Printables from the HP Printables web page.  https://printables.hp.com/us/en/collections/thanksgiving.  I click in the upper left of a document that I want to print, "Add to print."  Then I click the button in the middle of the screen, "Print Selected."  Nothing happens.  I have gone through much troubleshooting on my printer.  I confirmed that it is a web-service printer.  I have an HP OfficeJet 7740 wide carriage.  The firmware is up to date.  It is connected to the same network as my computer.  I can print a test page from my HP Laptop that is Windows 11.

Is there an issue with the print function on the HP Printables website?  I do not see anything wrong on my end.

I wish I could just download the Printables to .pdf and then print from there.  Thank you.

Hi @Iowa-Girl,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

You’ve done all the right troubleshooting steps firmware updated, printer online, web services enabled so the issue is very likely on the HP Printables website itself, not your printer. HP occasionally has outages or changes in the Printables service that affect the “Print Selected” button functionality.

Here’s what you can do:

Why “Print Selected” Doesn’t Work

  • HP Printables relies on HP Connected / Printables cloud service.
  • If the service is down or deprecated, the button won’t trigger the print job.
  • This is a known limitation, HP has been phasing out some web-based print services.

Workaround: Download as PDF

Unfortunately, HP Printables doesn’t always provide a direct Download PDF option on the site. But here’s how you can still get the files:

  1. Open the Printable in Full View
    • Click the thumbnail so the full page loads.

  2. Use Browser Print to PDF
    • Press Ctrl + P (Windows) or Cmd + P (Mac).
    • In Destination, select Save as PDF.
    • Save the file locally.

  3. Print from Your Computer
    • Open the saved PDF and print via your HP OfficeJet 7740.

Alternative: HP App

  • Open HP app on your Windows 11 laptop.
  • Go to Printables (if available).
  • Many collections are accessible directly in the app and allow PDF download.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
