Hi @Mariam141

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

The error code OW_500_OWSID00001 typically appears during printer setup in the HP App and is linked to expired encryption credentials or login issues.

Here’s how you can resolve it and complete your printer setup smoothly:

Step-by-Step Fix for OW_500_OWSID00001

Restart Everything

  • Power off your printer and unplug it for 30 seconds.
  • Restart your computer or mobile device.
  • Reconnect the printer and power it back on.

Clear HP App Cache (Mobile Devices)

  • On Android: Go to Settings > Apps > HP App > Storage > Clear Cache.
  • On iOS: Uninstall and reinstall the HP App.

Use the Latest HP App

Sign Out and Back In

  • Open the HP App and sign out of your HP account.
  • Close the app completely, reopen it, and sign back in.

Try Setup from a Different Device or Network

  • If the error persists, try setting up the printer using a different device.
  • Alternatively, switch to a different Wi-Fi network or mobile hotspot temporarily.

Reset Network Settings on Printer

  • On the printer control panel, go to Settings > Network Setup > Restore Network Defaults.
  • Reconnect the printer to Wi-Fi using the HP App.

Let me know your printer model and device type if you’d like tailored setup instructions.
